Hi. I am a Hanoi-based psychotherapist providing person-centered therapy and counseling services...
01. About
My name is Nguyen Dao (my international friends pronounce it as "Win" or “Wynn”)
I am a mental health therapist based in Hanoi, Vietnam. I hold a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from University of Rochester (2023-2025) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clark University (2017-2021).
Tĩnh Therapy was founded to bridge cultural gaps and bring accessible, relatable mental health care to both Vietnamese locals and international communities living in Vietnam. My practice is person-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. Sessions are conducted in Vietnamese, English, or a mix of both – whichever feels most natural to you.

5. Frequently-asked questions
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy is a collaborative process. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or simply curious about your inner patterns, it can be a supportive environment to explore these feelings without judgment. You do not need to be in crisis to begin.
Is my information confidential?
Yes, I am legally and ethically bound to keep your sessions private and confidential. Confidentiality has strict exceptions if there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of vulnerable individuals.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is mostly about getting a picture of what brings you to therapy and what you would like to be different this time if you were in therapy in the past. There is no obligation to disclose more than feels comfortable, and we finish by agreeing on how to proceed.
